This just appears to be FM 21-76 which you can get for free online in PDF form. The PDF is better than this "App" because you can open it in your Kindle app which allows you to search, bookmark, and lookup words. I don't recommend installing this unnecessary app.

I began using this app several weeks ago at the recommendation of several friends who had nothing but positive things to say about the program. I can see why they, and so many other people, like this program! After less than a month, I am already noticing results.
The program is incredibly intuitive to use. Registration is very easy, and can be done through the program itself (without being re-directed through the phone's browser). Once registered, you can also access your calorie/exercise log through the company's website. This is far more convenient than relying on a traditional food diary.
The program calculates your caloric need based on your height, weight, gender, lifestyle (active, sedentary, etc), and weight loss goals. This really customizes the program to help you achieve your individual goals, as opposed to going off of some generic information on caloric intake you find elsewhere.
MyFitnessPal's integration of the phone's camera as a barcode scanner really makes calorie-counting no excuse! If of course you can't find an item through the barcode scanner, you can select from their extensive food/beverage databse. If you stick to the caloric guidelines, there is no reason why you can't lose weight with this program!

Right now there are a lot of exercise apps for Android phones that will monitor your speed, distance, pace, heart rate, and route (using the built in GPS) signal. The better ones will also offer other features like being able to download your routes into Google Earth using .KLM files. Some even have calorie counter addons and other stuff like this. Recently I evaluated 20 different exercise apps. There were a few that really stood out for me: SportyPal Pro (a very slick interface with a lot of options and graphs), Endomondo (horrendously ugly interface but lots of great features), Runtastic (clean interface with lots of features & good data analysis), and RunKeeper (best overall for me).
After looking at all of them I decided that I liked RunKeeper the best because of a few things. First, I liked its clean, simple, yet very useful layout. I could get the information that I wanted in a quick and easy to see way all on one screen. Several other apps offered more, but sometimes more isn't better, it can makes finding the useful information harder. I wanted to know what my speed/pace was, monitor my heart rate, and see how things were changing over time with perhaps a quick look at my route sometimes. RunKeeper did all of this (except offer support for enough heart rate monitors). I also like how RunKeeper has a forum where you can go and talk to other RunKeeper users.
I would like to be able to say that the developers are very good about responding to feedback on their forum, but sadly this isn't always true. I've seen many users get feedback from the developers (myself included) and many users have their questions go unanswered (myself included) even when there are several people who post in the same thread that they would like to hear from the developers on the same issue too. This is not a good sign. I hope the developers will read this and make a better effort to have someone staff their forums and respond to users questions on a more regular basis. Many of us have been looking to see kayaking added to RunKeeper, but all we hear is silence. The same goes for supporting the Zephyr heart rate monitor (and others). It is for these reasons why I give RunKeeper 4 stars instead of 5. They have a good app with a great interface and I like that they offer good forums. With a little work, they could be great. Right now they are still the app I chose when I go out to exercise.
